The thing is, you usually dont. You give your heart to someone, and fucking hope for the best. It's allowing that person to do anything he or she wants with your precious heart. All you can do is hope that the person will take care of it and keep it safe.
Most of the time, we give our hearts to people who doesnt give a damn, or wouldnt care what happens to it. However, there are people out there who will give their whole damn world just to keep your heart safe. Believe me, it is worth the risk handing your heart to that special person, the best feeling you will ever feel once you've given your heart to him or her. The realization that they make you feel that your existence is more important than theirs.
You need to take the risk. Who knows, maybe the one you're giving your heart to is the very person you've been waiting for all your life.
